Cashier was defensive and rude.

Today, a noon, at the Petco store in Lakewood Washington I bought cat food. He did not ask if I had a penny. He quickly opens up the till and is gathering up 99 cents as I say I have a penny. He says it is too late and hands me the change. The till is still open and if I gave him 100 cents he could give me a dollar bill. I say its not too late he says it is. I say this is the only store that does this. He says that’s ok. I say I don’t want to shop here if this is how it goes. He says he is happy with that. I tell him that is selfish. He says that is ok. I tell him I am not happy with him. He says he is happy with himself. I am not complaining about him, I am complaining that you have not taught your cashiers how to make change or how to talk to people. Christmas is coming and this guy is going to make a lot of people unhappy with Petco and will go to PetSmart or others. If you merge with PetSmart I will go to the small exotic pet shops, I will pay more not to be challenged by a defensive bully. Sent copy to PetSmart.

Not honoring sale signes

we went to petco to get clothes and it says 50 percent off!! excludes pet toys for there pet clothes esp the christmas wear we get up too the register with 4 outfits and comes to 50 somthing dollers well thats not right and we asked her its sappose to be 50 percent off this brand she the ladys name i belive is ronnie she gets a really snotty attude and says no its buy one get one 50 percent off but thats not what the sign says and i had 4 outfits and then she tells me the only one was this one out of 4 outfits so that makes NO since whet so ever she wont go get a manger and is like im not going to argue with you but i will explain it she holds up a christmas sweater and says this is not a christmas item wait what? so i will NEVER shop at petco agine and i think you need to drug test your workers and they really need to work on their attudes and read a sign she wouldnt even go LOOK at the sigen and the other register gurl just looked at us like wow how embarrsing please check your workers thank you!

Nail trim

I took my dog in for her nail trim. They couldn't find me in the computer, aabd when they i was told rabbies vaccine not uup to date. I gave them a copy if all vaccines over a month ago. No record in the computer of course. Not to mention, 2 weeks ago i was contacted by the then manager that she was leaving, and could do my dog's grooming at the location she'd be working. I'm wondering if she erased my records? I'm literally fed up with the service! I will never return, and i will purchase my dog food, etc elsewhere. This place is the absolute worst!

Opposite of what I asked for

I brought our dog in for a nail clipping and a small face trim to get his hair out of his eyes. Instead, they shaved our dog completely, leaving only the hair on his face. This is literally the exact opposite of what I asked for. Will not return, I suggest others do not either.

Disappointed

I went to your store for the first time because of all the horror stories i've never been there, but I thought maybe because a person was mad and just wanted to be facious. But I went there for crickets for my reptiles and there was a chamelon and that poor baby was dry and crusty. I asked the worker about them being in a humid enviorment she said that it was time to check them I know that chamelon did not get that crusty from being over one day and also where the mice were there was one that i could see that was sick dry heaving on the top of the pile! I am just sad that i had expierenced that for my self.

Brought my chihuahua in for bath, nails, teeth, ears to be done. Hes short haired, needs no brushing, or grooming besides a bath.

He came home with a razor mark on the right side of his head, between his eyebrow and ear...it was rough and area about size of half dollar. Talked to ast mgr angelo, and groomer , daisy, neither seemed concerned or to care, and denied anything happened. Angelo refused to give me any assistance such as corporate email or number.

Tried to get corporate number and address from mgr britt later on. Not only was she rude, but she hung up on me.

Horrible customer service

I ordered a coat for my dog on 10/24/18 online.when I received it ,I realized it was too big .so I called [12/4/18] to get an exchange for a small size.the customer rep tells me that I can only order it online ,but have to return it in a store.[that was not mentioned on the website]i can do a new order for the small size.then when I tried to order a new one[by this time I have been on the phone for about 20 minutes being on hold most of it],she tells me I have to talk to a different rep in another department to give credit card information.at this point I have had it with the service.i did not order it.this is my first and last time to buy any thing from petco.in this day and age ,companies are supposed to make it easier for the customer.

I now Believe that Petco is somehow related to Petsmart and that they share information. A groomer at Petsmart horribly groomed my dog.

I got angry at this. Step up higher with your dog groomer.

I hate to leave 1 star. I guess the 1 is for the girl who cut my dogs toenails.
The worst grooming manager in this dept. I had issue with him last time when I made an appt with him for grooming. I brought my dog at the correct time when this grooming manager said he couldn't groom my dog maybe for the entire day even though I had an appt. At that time the store manager was good. The manager talked with the grooming manager about the appt issue and it was corrected to my satisfaction.
I have now been taking my dog in only for toenail cuts and anal openings. I had paid 10.00 for these treatments over 3 visits. Today I went in and found this awful grooming manager. He said I would need to pay double this. That there were notes in the system about my behavior. I just couldn't believe it. Then he refused to take my dog even though my dog was hurting with a broken toenail. He escorted my dog out. Unbelievable!! I then talked to the store manager who was no help like the previous store manager had been. I finally asked the store manager if they could just cut my dog's toenails since she was hurting. I got them to cut the toenails, but if Petco ever sees my face again, it will just not happen.
Petco is keeping a File on you and can make up anything they want. What a way to deface a customer !! Store manager was just not a good store manager. He had no authority !!

My dog got Kennel Cough after Petco Grooming

Took my dog in 12 days ago for her usual grooming and wash. About 5 days we started to notice that she was cough weird, sneezing constantly, and coughing like she was throwing up but nothing was coming out. I did research and she was showing signs of Kennel Cough.

My dog doesnt interact with other dogs and is a house dog. I called Petco and they where no help at all. The store manager is saying if it was from them then other people would of called to complain about their animals (how do I know they havent called?). And the best part they said if the dog got the kennel cough from them, then I would of saw the symptoms immediately. Obviously they didnt know what they where talking about because after I did my research it says "Symptoms usually develop three to ten days after exposure".

Overall, very un happy and will NEVER take my dog there.... What a shame, took her for her first haircut and that would of been her last time there. VERY VERY VERY UPSET!!!!!!!!!!

The management team needs more training, they dont know what customer service is.

Website/store issues

Although they carry the 'right stuff' that I was looking for (aquarium supplies), there seems to be an issue with their website vs store availability. Twice, their website has claimed that an item is "available in store" at the Abilene location. Twice, the items have not been on the shelf. It's inconceivable to me that several of the items were sold out in the 15 minutes it took to actually get to the store in question. Asking one of the clerks - when I could actually find one - garnered the response that nothing was stored in the back. If it wasn't on the shelf, they were out of the product. Unless there is a major issue with their website/inventory process -- this strikes me as a 'bait and switch' maneuver.

Complaint about a rude cashier says she is a manager

Bought the blue buffalo dog food does not agree with my dog he throws it up.I took it back asked for store credit as I did not have my husbands credit card that it was purchased on.I even told the lady I need a different kind of food.she informed me that is the best I can not exchange it and give you the balance on a gift card.very rude I called back and asked for a manager the one I spoke to listened then told me to hold on and put the same lady on that I was having problems with.I looked on your website and it does say there can be a store credit.this was the Orlando store on colonial blvd in fla my name is summer Johnson please respond to let me know if you do give store credits I even asked for cooperate and they gave me pet smart number not petco

My husband took the dog food to a different store and they took care of it with no problem .Didn't need the card.So we will be driving further but will not be back in the colonial blvd store.They are very rude and do not follow your return policy according to your website

I placed an order online for a case of 13oz cans of prescription dog food. I paid $15.99 for 2 day shipping. 7 days later i received a case of 3oz cans of regular cat food. I called and a woman told me she would reorder it. 11 days after ordering i called again and was told it hadnt been reordered. The man then read me an email i received from customer service stating they had technical difficulties. I had talked to 2 people and sent 3 emails. I gave up and asked for a refund. I was told it would take 5-7 days. I replied "unbelievable" the man then started his "thank you have a nice day goodbye" thing. I am upset because of the time and money wasted and now Im ordering it again from another company. I had been a repeat delivery customer for years. I will never order from Petco again. This was human errors. My problem wasnt fixed by customer service. It didnt matter that my issue hadnt been resolved. Total disregard for the customer.

Same thing happened to me. I ordered cat food and my vet approved it the same day.

5 days later i still recieved nothing. Its my first time using petco so im never using it again. I called them and they said it just got approved today and that they would ship it within 2 days. My vet approved it the day i ordered it so how is this possible.

i asked for them to cancel it then since its already been so long and the lady on the phone said i probably wont be able to cancel it but she will send in a request that would take about 2 days but who knows how long it would actually take with petco. Never again.

Now i wasted a lot of time and am just going to go get it from the vet. Such bad service.

Discrimination - Manager (name tag: Rai)

Just to provide background: I am a regular Petco customer. I purchased two guinea pigs from Petco back in February and have planned to buy more.

My boyfriend and I spend hundreds of dollars buying all of our pet products from Petco. Yesterday, my boyfriend bought bedding and hay for our pigs and let me know that he saw a beautiful, fluffy brown baby pig that he thought I would love. So today, on this beautiful Saturday, I drove to Petco to see this pig so I could decide if we would add him to the family. When I arrived at the tank, the guinea pig was hiding in the hideaway, so I could not see it.

I looked around for someone to help us. I finally made eye contact with an employee (name tag: Rai) who asked how they could help. I asked if we could see the guinea pig. Rai responded “Well do you plan on buying it?” Confused, I asked her to repeat the question and she said again very confidently “Are you going to buy the guinea pig?

I will only let you see it if you plan on purchasing it.” Completely shocked, I walked away and looked for another employee. Rai approached the employee I was waiting to speak to, so I asked her if there was a manager available. Confidently, she told me she was the manager. I asked her why I would need to promise to buy a guinea pig before seeing it.

She stated that groups of kids come into the store asking to see pets, so she had to be certain. I asked if I looked like a child? She said “No ma’am...” then said “Well, I can get someone to show you the guinea pig...” At this point, I was too hurt and offended to even stay in the store. My boyfriend and I left.

I am deeply hurt at how I was treated not only as a loyal Petco customer, but as a person. I am also disappointed that I did not see the guinea pig I was interested in.

If this is how Petco treats their customers, they don’t deserve them. Do not shop here.

On Tuesday around 6 pm , I was shopping with my mother for some things for our dogs. My mom was standing a few feet away from me and I was talking to her, out of no where the customer service lady named Amy said “if you are speaking to me then look at me” but In a rude tone, I told her that I was not talking to her , and she replied with “I have a reason I have eyes” I felt like that was totally unprofessional and she should not ever speak to a customer like that again.

I will never go back to that Petco and I’ll tell all my friends not to go to that store. The store is The Hillsboro location in the sunset esplanade.
