I can’t believe it!!! My goldendoodle has been groomed at the petco in Oceanside and we the the groomer but I’m so upset that my dog was infected with a flu virus. $250 later after vet visit........ I’m so upset and going to have to find another groomer

Walk into Petco Unleashed at Hillcrest location. Store is not busy. Finished shopping went to checkout..Three enmployees behind checkout counter. One cashier is busy with a customer. The other rwo employees working at checkout counter ignored me and proceeded with conversing without aknowlegement that I was ready to checkout. One cashier who was finishing with,customer ask next in line? Did not look at me or greet me. She checked me out . She signed me up for loyalty card when i asked 2x about resigning for card. She entered my info and needed to correct her imput on the keyboard 4 x. When finished she informed me the discount will not apply to todays purchase and may take week before my account will be valid for any discount or earned points.. Products offered were limited in the cat food and cat treats.

This review is for wesley chapel florida Petco. The manager is NOT friendly. She was extremely rude .. rolling her eyes and arguing with one of the really nice store employees one day. Another day i went to ask a question while she was grooming a dog and she cut the dog..... it YIPPED and she said"Dont do that... you scared me!". WHAT???? I will NEVER go there again.

I walk into West Babylon Ny Petco a lot and I am not sure if Marian is new manager but she was talking to her associates or managers like they didn't know what they were doing. I overheard her saying "what are you a idiot? you cant do that". Since when was it right to bully the fellow people you work with. Petco just lost a customer that's for sure. I feel bad for the people she made cry. And to make it worse there was no air conditioner in the store. Is Petco trying to kill their animals. I think they were. Not sure if Petsmart is any better since they overfeed there animals. Please correct your staff and make changes

Store Failed to Accomodate Scheduled Grooming Without Notice

I had a grooming appointment scheduled at Petco today, Sunday July 1st for 10:30 A.M at the location in Parkville Shopping Center in Baltimore, MD, but they were unable to accomodate my request. I had called and scheduled this in advance over a week ago. It is hard to get appointments at this time of the year, and worse, I am going away and now I will be in the car with a dirty dog. She is shedding too, so the black interior of my Tahoe is probably going to be white after all is said and done. Apparently, the store lost power today, Sunday. I arrived at the store and walked ro the door with my dog, only to read a sign saying they are closed and a woman came running out and said they are closed and have no power. She was very rude and did not apologize at all. My dog, a Shiba Inu, did not get groomed. She was scheduled to be groomed with the upgraded furminator package to cut down on the shedding (her coat is thick despite being summer) and wash away the dog smell from all this rain. She still smells bad and will be traveling like so. Pets Mart and other nearby locations were booked and unable to get me in today at the last minute. Several issues here: 1) I was not notified about the power outage or alerted my appointment could not be accomodated. The lady at Petco said phones were down and they couldn't call. Every one has cell phones, I would have appreciated a phone call. Or email. Something 2) I had plans to take care of after dropping her off and those were squashed. I could not even stop and get gas on the way home. It is too hot (near 100) to leave the car off for 5 minutes even with the windows down. 3) Do your Petco stores have backup generators? 4) I tried calling the store again and get no answer. Petco is closer to me, but after this experience, I am willing to drive an extra 20 minutes to Pets Mart out off RT 40 near White Marsh / Nottingham. They do a great job there. Communication is key. Preparation is key. This store is undoubtfully unprepared to handle power outages. It is this kind of service which will drive repeat customers away. Thanks.

If their power is off, how were they supposed to check the computer to get your information in order to call you? And then you tried to call the store after they told you the phones weren't working? This is just a classic example of someone wanting to get mad at something without thinking it through all the way.

Update: I called a few more times and eventually got Kathy the Petco representative. She reiterated that my phone number was copied wrong (human error) the first time and she had the division manager call me back.

He apologized and offered me a gift card. He asked me how do I feel we can resolve this. I explained that I would like the manager to be spoken to about how I was treated and it would be nice if I got an email saying he was spoken to. He said because of privacy laws he could not tell me certain things and he will look into sending me an email but he assured me that people were spoken to and that customer service is very important to Petco.

I said "this is not about money, it is about the way I was treated" and he said the gift card he wants to send is a gesture and that he understands the way I was treated should never have happened. I guess according to Petco there are privacy laws in America that prevent them from telling me what was done about the situation?

My name is Chris Herbert. I frequent this Clifton new jersey petco and spend a lot there. I went today and they were busy in fish so I waited. I asked ho much the irredescent sharks were because I did not see a tag. The manager said 2.99 so I said "wow that's great" nd me and the other woman who worked there walked up front. The fish rang up 4.99 but the women said "give it to him for 2.99 I was there and heard the price he was told". She said "don't worry" but the cashier needed an override wo they called another manager named Candido who gave me a nasty look and said "wait" and walked away with the fish. I explained that I was there for an hour already and have to go. The cashier was nice and said "I have no idea why he will not just give you the fish, it is two dollars", He came back and said the fish is 4.99. I said "well two of your employees said it was 2.99 and you made me wait. I am 50 years old and I actually knew a few people online but right in front of them Candido rudely said "too bad, the fish is 4.99 do you want it or not". I had no clue why he hated me but I said "I will go to another store from now on, I spend thousands here, are you going to lose me over two dollars when it was your mistake not mine?" and he smiled and said "absolutely". I got mad and demanded his name and the complaint number. I called in my car and the woman (angie) was very nice. They needed names and store number so I had to go back in the store. At that point the first manager who quoted me the wrong price said "you were not here for an hour that is not true and you can not yell in my store" I was not yelling, I was on the phone with Petco and the entire time I was being tapped. Angie said she did not think I was yelling and I seemed very reasonable. She said she would be upset to. I admit I was upset. Anyway the store called the police and I left when the Clifton cops showed up. I am waiting for a call back from a woman named Kathy who I am told will get back to me in 48 hours.

Actually the reason that I had to leave the store was because this woman was not watching her child. I was already upset at this point that I said if she did not watch her child I would beat him up.

That is when they called the police. Knowing that the police sides with women from past experiences where I beat up my wife I knew that they would not listen to my side of the story. I have a criminal record thanks to my mom who called the police on me when I asked her to borrow money. She said no.

I then threw her to the ground and took her credit card.

She reported me and I was charged with assault and theft. So twice I was wronged by the police and they took the woman's side.

The reason that they called the police on me is because there was this woman with a child who was not controlling her child. I threatened to beat the child up.

I had to leave because the police usually take the woman's side. Took my wife's side when she reported me for beating her up. Took my mother's side when we had an argument over money.

I needed to borrow some she said no. I admit I was angry and got physical and took her credit card and she called the police on me and I was charged with assault and theft.

Yep they are doing something. They are ignoring you.

See they can prove you did not wait an hour, video being time stamped and such. Since there was no POSTED price the employee could have been quoting a previous sale price. You can write as many negative reviews but atleast be honest. You admit you were upset, over $2, and we all get that.

But since there was no posted price and once rung up its different then what you were told or heard., you had the option to not buy it. Since it wasn’t actually mispriced why would you expect that someone from management is going to give you your way? If it was actually a posted price I would say go to town! You had to wait for the customers in front of you in order to have your turn.

You know you didn’t wait a hour and to lie and say you did only shows that you will taken any mistake and capitalize on it to YOUR benefit. Really just get over it and don’t shop there again. You made a scene because you wanted something done the way you wanted. Where is the recompense for the employees who had to put up with your attitude and mouth?

Face it the police were called, this means you went out of control to the point you were asked to leave and DID NOT!! You chose to try and stand your ground when the ground was taken away from you. It’s STILL their private property and you have no right to make a scene. It would be the same as someone walking into your home and NOT LEAVING!

You chose to escalate the situation and paid the price for doing so. Get over it and move on and learn from it. But people like you will ONLY see how “wronged” you are and justify ANY negative behavior. Maybe you should be fair and write a post about how YOU acted.

I know for a fact that if a employee wrote a post about you it definitely wouldn’t show you as much of a victim as you claim.

One wonders what the actual video would show. Maybe they will sue you for defamation and show it in court so it’s public record.

Actually they had many complaints and revamped the entire store. A nice manager there said yes I was there over an hour and they apologized.

I randomly went back in because I know they had a dollar per gallon sale. The new staff was super helpful and 90% of the old staff were fired.

So thank you for your input saying I was not there an hour... but yes I was and they openly admit that :)

You attack me here as well, insist that petco is ignoring me (when they have revamped the store and apologized to me) you say the "employees who had to put up with your attitude and mouth" which is another lie because the entire time this all happened I was live on the phone with kathy the petco representative who actually stated I was very calm (and she was on my side through the entire thing) so I just feel you are the bad employee or friend of his and I am ignoring his trolling... after I write this and let you know that I know :)

Hello this is chris Herbert again. I called today for the 14th time.

I was told that someone will get back to me. Today is Monday. Friday when I called (the 13th time) I was told that the phone number they had was typed in wrong (human error) and that they did call me one time but they called the wrong number.

I feel that with my 14 calls and 6 online complaints and me writing what happened on Petco's youtube video..... someone should have done something by now.

Horrible service dont shop there

I had the worst experience in my life! Petco located in arvada 80th and wadsworth. I asked for assistance to purchase 2 harnesses for my dogs. And the 1 employee tried her best to help but it was obvious no one trained her. I felt bad for her. Also the mobile vet crew was there and had the entire row of harnesses blocked. When i tried to reach for one, the young girl was not just rude. But made me feel extremely uncomfortable, and would not give me access to purchase then. There was *** all over the floor that my boyfriend had the unpleasant experience of getting all over his hand when reachong to pick up our dog who walked in the *** The young employee walked away because she clearly could not show us the harnesses or how to put them on. After 25 minutes in this store and no assistance and rude millennial mobile vet girls making us uncomfortable with rude looks and literally making us feel like we were in their way I will NEVER SHOP PETCO AGAIN. I WOULD RATHER GO MILES OUT IF MY WAY TO GET ASSISTANCE AND BE AROUND PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THE SRTVICE INDUSTRY and serve the public like they are paid to do. What happened to society, politeness, respect ? Doing the JOB YOURE PAID TO DO????

Thank you for your response, however, at this time there is no point in calling customer service as this has been an ongoing issue for the past two years I have been going to the store. There's always a turn around of employees each time I go in at somebody new, of which shows me there could be something wrong with upper management or, just two people that you hire really don't care about their job.

Either way this was the last straw for me I have no desire to visit that store or speak to anybody. I felt it this time the public deserved to know the conditions of the store and how they treat the consumer.

Price increase

I have been taking my dog to Petco for her grooming for the past seven years and have been paying around $64.00 for the service. This last time I was charged $103.00 for the same service. When I asked the groomer why it was almost twice the usual price she said that their prices had gone up.

The groomers at Petco have always done a great job with my dogs grooming but I will have to look for a more reasonable shop going forward.

Hamsters die too fast

So in April we bought our first hamster we named her rose but in fortunately she died with in 3 1/2 months! Last week on August 13,2018 we purchased another hamster and today(08/24) it died already!!..not even 2 weeks!!!...my daughters are so heart broken!!...we bought everything recommended by the sales associate! Clean water everyday! And new food every other day!..I don’t know what’s wrong! Is petco even taking care of the animals correctly?!?!?....now I have spent sooo much for nothing!! Very disappointed!!! and both hamsters where bought at the Eagan, MN location. Definitely not going back!!! Probably en general ever going back to petco!!!

Awful

The staff does not follow your wishes regarding your dog, are generally rude, and they add on lots of charges to the cost. Unprofessional environment, which must be why they lose good groomers. There was one good woman groomer who left, and it has been downhill ever since. There are many other grooming places to go to, so there is no point in having an unpleasant experience regarding, of all things, a pet grooming. This was my experience in Ramsey Petco. I have not been to the other locations, so I am not sure if the other locations are better, however, from the online reviews, it does not look like it. Rude, unprofessional, and an unpleasant experience bringing my dogs there. Try somewhere else.

As a new customer, my first experience was a terrible one. The salesperson/Management/Beth at Petco’s Chester, VA location told me that the puppy training classes would be held at my home. I purchased puppy training classes that was rescheduled twice before someone told me that in Petco doesn’t do in home training. The manager/Beth had an “oh well” attitude. Not very customer friendly.

I was at the lynnwood store getting cat food well at the check out the cashier could not pull me up and i do have the rewards well the other decides to butt in while she is with a customer and also very rude i explained how can your store everett find me but you cant and the other clerk who is rude with me she said it is petsmart and i told her i shop at both well you guys just lost a customer i will not come back i will tell my friends and family not to shop at petco i will be shopping at petsmart chewy.com and mudd bay in Mukilto sorry you guys really need to train your staff how to treat your customers

Spree carriers sold by petco on ebay

do not buy spree carriers from Petco sold on ebay. they come without instructions or all of the hardware. hardware will be replaced if you give them an item number which is hard to do when none is included with the order. hardware can be sold if you give your credit card number to a person via email, even though no web site is available. the response team is oily asking the same question over and over even when info has been given. the upshot is that the carriers do not hold together, do not come with instructions or hardware and the response Petco team puts you off over and over. do not buy spree carriers from Petco sold on ebay.
