Petco in North Carolina - Slow and Incorrect processing of defective items

We purchased a crate mat call the Pet SnooZZy from Petco online. The item was valued at $16.19. The very first time the mat was washed, it completely fell apart-It ripped on a delicate cycle and left hundreds of pieces in my washer. I immediately contacted Petco.com and they instructed me to return the item for a refund and they would cover shipping. I did as they asked and 6 emails later I am still fighting for my proper refund. They finally credited the amount of the defective item but did not cover the cost of the return shipping as they promised. This refund was processed 17 days after the item was received by Petco and only after two emails. Most online retailers trust their customers, this was outrageous. The fact that I had to spend $15.80 to return an item that was defective and cost $16.19 is a poor business practice.

I hate walking in petco and seeing the cats for adoption in the small *** cages. They stay in there for weeks at a time and never get any exercise. Its horrible like find better living situations for them if there toing to be there long term. Especially if there sharing a cage. Some have a 3 cubby cage thing and can only walk maybe 6 feet cant stand or anything! HORRIBLE!!! Richmond, va

Petco in Mesa, Arizona - Was contracted to supply kittens for adoption thru PAWS in Chandler, AZ....homefostered 20 kittens...manager let me go.....strapped with 20 kittens to care for

Home fostering 20 kittens to supply for enclosures ...I volunteer for PAWS...one kitten adopted got sick after a few days, the adopter took to emergency for stuck eye, kitten got a cold and had ear mites, I called adopter and told I have meds, she wanted vet care. She complained to Petco and wanted donation fee back but still wanted the kitten. Manager of Petco had a list of complaints about me, never made me aware of so that i could rectify but told head of PAWS, she wanted me out. 6 of the 20 kittens I am fostering were dumped at Petco and they asked me to take them. Now I have lost my position over this and am burdened with 20 kittens that have nowhere to go for adoption. I had no clue that they were that unhappy, I feel that they did not live up to their part of the deal by not being up front and honest with me thereby causing me to burden myself with too many kittens with no place to be adopted.

I've never seen such an arrogant unprofessional guy in all my years of visiting Petco. I frequently visit The Petco on 92nd street to buy my dogs and cats treats or get my dogs groomed, etc. Most recently a new worker had entered the store and I've been noticing his fould immature behavior not only amongst his staff, but amongst his customers. When I tried to confront him about it once, he spazzed out on me calling me all sorts of names and cursing me out. When I asked to speak to a manager he goes and tell me that he is the general manager in the store and that there was quite on quote "nothing I can do about it so *** off ***". I completely lost it, but like a gentlemen I left the store. I found out his name is Douglass and let me tell you that I do have friends in high places in Petco. If Tom does not step up and talk to him like he should, I will be paying corporate a visit and let them take matters into their own hands. I'm tired of seeing foul play like this all the time. Douglass is very disgusting, lazy, and does not deserve to be general manager of the store.

Just an idea....if you had a prior bad experience with this petco employee, I imagine anticipating it and recording his replies on your cell phone would be an excellent idea. I know some people will say this act is being paranoid...or that we who do this are troublemakers and type A, but the reality is that having at least an audio capture of what you are complaining to corporate about IS one of the best feelings ever!

Most people are unaware that this IS legal, but don't post it, just let the corporate rep know you have it. (Conveniently let it be overheard in the background of your phonecall!) ...more people need to RECORD and it's super easy to do nowadays!

Typical ...todays businesses could care less about customer service or their customers...just the botom line...they hire teenagers and don't train them in a rotating cattle line...money money is all they care about...if people stop shopping there as I have when their doors close...we will have the last laugh...

Walked into hanover pa store to buy fish. We were nicely greeted, but when we discovered a tank filled with dead fish we just had to leave. My 14 yr old almost vomited in the store. When I took a picture to show a store employee, Noone was available.

Petco - Cat Tree Review from Klamath Falls, Oregon

I have shopped in petco a lot. I love it there. My son and i were looking for a cat tree. We have two cats and was looking for a big one. I found a lovely one for 220.00. I wanted to take a picture of it so i could show it to my daughter to see what she thought. We were told by a man that pictures were not allowed. He was very rude so i put back the item that i had and decided that i would buy my cat tree somewere eles were i would be treated better. I got more angry latter on. I have always enjoyed shopping more at petco then opposed to the co op or some of the other pet supply stores here in klamath falls. I just moved here in feb. Were i used to live i only shopped at petco. I am looking up other pet supply stores as i speak.

wow, I thought that the cat tree was wood or it collapsed on your cats or something. But simply a rude employee? This is probably some rich spoiled brat that's used to getting everything given to HER, and irresponsibly had a son.

Petco - Dog Grooming Review from Jewell, Iowa

I took my yorkie to petco to get groomed, the lady was extremely rough with him. That's when I saw her pull him up by his top knot hair almost completely off the table and he yelped. She then started yelling at him. We could hear her from outside the grooming area and she was on the far side working, but when her and the manager were talking we couldn't hear anything. At one point she called him a *** dog. She still was rough and she could tell I was mad when I got him back and had the nerve to roll her eyes at me!!!
