Petco in Whittier, California - Conditions of reptile

I've been to several petco's to buy food for my chameleon. I occasionally look at the chameleons they have in store. Everyone of them has shown early signs of MBD (metabolic bone disease). Each Chameleon looks sluggish and can barely hold themselves on the branches. Not to mention that chameleons need screen enclosures and not glass. The food they feed them is just meal worms in a bowl. That is not nutritious what so ever. I suggest that if petco sells these reptiles, they should at least train their managers in training their staff as to how to care for the reptiles/ animals.

Petco in Clifton Park, New York - Bad grooming

I took my bichon in to be groomed at the Clifton Park, NY Petco store. the groomer cut his ears, cut his belly and clipped his nails too short. He had dried blood all over his face. When I asked what happened the clerk checking me out said she didn't know. My poor baby ended up with a serious infection and was on medication for 2 weeks. In addition since it was a weekend, I had to take my dog to an emergency medical clinic. The cost was outrageous but well worth getting my dog back to good health. When I called the Clifton Park, NY Petco store where the poor work was done to let them know what had happened, the manager said, "sorry, guess your dog is going to go thru what he is going thru" and then hung up. In addition complaints to the headquarters about this got me no response except an offer for a free grooming. REALLY? Do they think I will ever return to their store? NEVER. And I make sure all my friends know not to go there as well.

FYI, a breed specific haircut, if you are to follow AKC guidelines for the breed, is a LONG and FLOWING coat, with MINIMAL trimming. You asked for a haircut, nothing breed specific about it.

Petco in Pekin, Illinois - Worst grooming experience ever!

I took my two Siberian Huskies in to get full-service grooming. When I picked them up, everything seemed ok. I got my boys home, and noticed that my older boy was covered in ***/puncture marks. He would not let my husband or I even touch him. I'm not sure what exactly happened while he was in the back, but there was clearly a confrontation with another dog. I will not be taking my boys back, and I tell anyone who is looking for a reputable groomer to avoid Pekin Petco at all costs! Even when I called back, and spoke to a manager, they said there was nothing that could be done, and they are not liable for any injury inflicted upon my dog while he was at their grooming facility! After over $300 dollars in vet bills to clean and stitch these wounds, I'm appalled at Petco!

Petco in Portland, Oregon - Grooming - one style does not fit all

Took out mini aussie in and was assured the groomer had experience with this breed. Got her back and she was cut like a full size poodle with her hair the same length all over. This is contrary tour breeder and other breeders we have talked to and reviewed online. sahe looks nothing like a mini aussie and we were told to keep her out of the sun as they are very prone to sunburn with hair this short, that her hair may grow back course rather than soft, and the drastic change may trigger additional growth of the undercoat to keep her warm. Onlyu time will tell if there is long term adverse results but the ignorance or indifference of the groomer is shameful. Petco has lost this customer and any I talk to for life.

Order offline on petco.com only time my credit card was used then started having unauthorized charges

Used a credit card on there website and is the only time my credit card was used then 3 days later started getting unauthorized chargeson my account in another state called petco.com and they stated that their website is secure and they could not have gotten it off of there it is the only placed I used it and they basically wanted to just tell me I must have been careless with my card and somebody was able to get my card number but the careless part was using their website please do not use their website to order anything because they could careless about your personal information I am sure target and google thougt their website was secure also

So, you neglect your dog to the point where the only option is to shave it, yet suddenly, you care about your dogs welfare when it takes too long to groom your matted mess? You are shouldn't own pets.

Or have children. Out house plants.

Petco in Katy, Texas - Horrible and Rude Customer Service

I will never shop at the Westheimer and Wilcrest location in Houston, Texas again because of how I was treated when I brought my dog in for grooming February 3, 2015. When I went to my 1:00 pm appt. for the Groomer said I had my appointment wrong and should have been there at 12:30. Then proceeds to tell me that she is short staffed and cannot take my dog that day. I was furious as I had taken the afternoon off from work. I asked to speak to the Manager and she also spoke to me with disrespect and didn't even try to make an unhappy customer into a happy one! I was so upset and disappointed in the way I was treated, I will never shop at Petco again! From now on PetsMart gets my business!
