I bought tropical fish w/ Chinese bottom feeder at the suggestion of the associate a month later a fish comes up missing thought it died come to find out this Chinese bottom feeder is trying to eat all my fish and just killed another and it chases them around the tank called the store and they said oh nothing we can do its past thirty days wow really u suggested it want to take it back but nothing in return I loose money and 3 fish petco sucks I will never go there again!

Petco in Sarasota, Florida - Charging for items not purchased

I have been to petco several times to purchase dog and cat foods, toys and other items for my dogs and cat. After the first few times I went to the store I looked at my sales slip after I got home and saw that I was charged for an item I did not purchase. I bought the sales slip back to the store and explained what I did not purchase and I received an immediate refund. Now I check the receipt before I leave the store and 2 out of three times there is an item on it that I didn't purchase and I had to wait for a refund. Just tonight I was charged for a $9.95 item that I didn't purchase and had to once again wait for a refund. I go to this petco because it is convenient for me but now a new pet store opened nearby that I will try. Watch your receipts at petco before you leave the store to avoid a trip back.

The "points" are rewards dollars. You'll see a $5 reward on your account after your total spending reaches $100.

Look on your receipts, it'll say how much more you have to spend to get your reward. Source: PALS rewards member who also can use his expert decoding skills to translate letters and numbers into intelligible messages in a process known as "reading."

I no longer do because I refused to be their robot. Get you customers info now because you days are numbered. They will find a reason to fire you.

I always said I wish the show undercover boss would come to Petco. No one would ever shop there again

Petco - Manager Review from Pittsfield, Massachusetts

I am an employee of Petco. When I started working there, I loved it. Over the past few months though, everything has gone completely crazy. Our manager is absolutely incompetent and doesn't do his job as he should. He is biased and two-faced. Because of him not doing his job correctly, our grooming department has become mess. We try to do our best for the store, yet it is nearly impossible to do even that. Not to mention Animal care. Almost no one, including all of the manager, cares about the animals welfare. They simply want everything to look good for corporate. I have time and time again gone to my GM asking to make vet appointments for various animals. That never happens unless the animal is literally dying. And sometimes not even then. I have had multiple animals die right in my hands. Its a traumatic experience and I hate that it happens to me almost weekly because of poor care. I do everything I can for them, but just an associate, there isn't much else I can do. I do not recomend shopping at Petco. Don't give fund a corporation that says they care about the wellbeing of pets when all they care about is profit

Petco Rockville is the worst place ever

Worked here for 5 months before I had to quit due to abuse from managers. Store never has enough people on to properly help customers. Management refuses to do actual work and blames staff for store's problems. Gm puts used/opened product back on shelves at full price. Management yells at employees for everything and anything. When only one employee is running cash register managers call another employee to help instead of do it themselves to Avoid working. Managers sit around and do nothing then yell at employees for talking to another employee or getting a drink. Avoid at all costs.

I completely understand. I am still currently working at this store, but I feel trapped and I am seeking to leave.

The pay is terrible ( I even know some fellow coworkers being paid below minimum wage), they barely give me any hours despite hiring me "full-time", and management makes constant excuses thay corporate is constantly making them "cut back on payroll". I am also extremely irritated from covering my managers' *** almost everytime I am lucky enough to have hours.

I have student loans and bills to pay. Working here is just costing me more than what I am earning.
