Petco in Glen Cove, New York - Attitudes in the whole store?

i hate going to this glen cove ny petco the only reason is that i live local and its easy for me but i walked in there the other day and i saw an older women short hair she had a dog with her i believe she was the trainer, i said hello and she gave me this look like i wasnt allowed to speak to her just a dirty look. I walked away to complete my shopping. I did need some assistants so i saw another young lady with a brown jacket brown hair glasses i think i saw this girl in the grooming department before so i continued to ask her for help and she just kept walking like she didnt even hear me. i went on to find everything myself because i couldnt see any other associate anywhere in the store guess they were short staffed that day! most of the workers in there act like they dont want to be there i never see a smile on any of there faces anytime i go!

customer support was already contacted numerous times i was told about this particular location and i can see nothing was done! i know i wont say anything any longer i will just walk in get what i need and walk out!

Never use Petco Grooming

I never write online reviews. However, I am so upset, I feel I must speak out. I took my Bichon Frise to Petco for a groom. Her hair was long and had some mats. They explained that she would have to be shaved. I wasn't crazy about it but agreed. I think they were lazy. But, that is not why I am unhappy. My adorable, happy dog has not been the same since I brought her home. She lays on the couch, shakes when we try to take her outside and refuses to take a walk. I thought it was because of the shave but now I know that is not the cause. We looked inside her ears and discovered they were covered with large scabs. Clearly, the Petco groomer took the ear care too far. Or said another way, the Petco groomer caused and continues to cause a sweet dog a lot of pain. If you love your dog, please do not take them to Petco for grooming.

Petco grooming -a really bad experience. Irresponsible company

I had got an appointment a week prior of taking my dog. My dog happen to be car sick. I drop her off and 2 hours later I received a phone call from them telling me that they weren't able to do my dog because prior to me two dogs had arrive and they were very matted. I expressed them my disappointment and told them that my dog gets car sick and going there and coming back without her having her hair done was not right. They could not care less and told me that they were not going to groom her to go to pick her up and reschedule. This is the last time I take my dog there or buy any of their products.

They never did pay for our dogs visit! I still have the vet contacting me for payment even after one year!

Just to clarify, this is not a solution to the issue, as their proposal forces me to place almost twice the original price on my credit card, trust that I'll actually receive the 'gift card' (tho the title is dubious as it's my money), AND be forced to purchase more product from the company.

Well, as suggested, I called Petco's customer service. Their proposed 'resolution'?

That I attempt to purchase the product again & they will make the effort to honor the sale price of the item (which would involve me paying full price & them sending me a Petco gift card for the difference). Unspoken yet obvious is the hope that the 3rd party vendor will actually ship the product this time. I'm not sure how this 'solution' can be perceived as anything but indifferent.

This gift is a month overdue. I'm still VERY disappointed in Petco.

STAY AWAY!!! This company has let me down start to finish for a simple gift of puppy basic essentials. The order was split quickly- the puppy Kongs arrived on time (wrong color but worse things have happened) & the exercise pen simply did not. After 9 biz days I received an e-mail that my order had been cancelled without explanation. Apparently, it's MY fault that I didn't know they use 3rd party vendors for whom they are NOT accountable. I was unreasonable to expect that I might be included in this outcome. The only apology I received at any point was for keeping me on a 36 minute hold. It was impossible not to feel that the error was (supposedly) mine for hoping they would deliver on promises. So, my gift has never arrived (& won't) & I'll stick to companies with a conscious in the future.

I wish I could post pictures on this comment, but I was going to buy 2 bettas from my local pet smart over 2/3rd of them were dead! I told the associate she said " they're lazy fish!" I told her they're dead , she then argued with me, I walked over showed her.

She then said "oh well!" Someone will buy them! I took pictures of them, she then asked if I wanted one? I said no, went to another store and purchased my two bettas! They have no knowledge of how to care for a betta, she told me I don't have to buy a tank I can go to the dollar store and get a bowl!

No they need at least a 2gal tank!

If you want them to live happily, also told me that they only need to eat a few times a week, well maybe that's why almost all their fish were dead and tanks were empty! Won't go back to that store for any of my pets needs!

Petco - NOT next day delivery

Ordered next day delivery. Never received tracking number. Called, was told the order would arrive by close of business. It didn't, or the next day. Two other calls and petco was still unable to provide any information on the status of the order and would not provide me with a way to cancel the order. "System is down" is about all I got. Promised callback from a supervisor within 24 hours never arrived, either. Day 4 and the reason for next day delivery has passed. At least they answered the phone. Agents friendly but a waste of time. Live and learn.

the young man who was working in the grooming dept. today 10/9/14 was very rude to my friend & myself. He took the ladys dog who was ahead of us and said he would be right back but he went ahead and gave her dog a haircut before coming back and then I told him the # of Highlands Animal Hospital in Sebastian so he could verify my friends dog was up to date on her shots. I even looked the number up to make sure I was correct. Obviously he didn't know how to use the telephone as he couldn't make the call go thru (or so he said) My friend has never let her dogs shots expire. We just wanted to get the dogs nails clipped, he refused without proof of shots. We wound up driving to Halo in Sebastian and it cost us nothing but gas. I'll NEVER go back to Petco again. It's too bad too because I was intending to buy a couple of items while I was there.
