Petco - Cashier Review from Middletown Township, New Jersey

I do not expect these replacement fish to survive. 3rd visit for these darn fish and and done with Petco. Aquarium section employee ,obviously high, could not find the fish we were replacing and could not handle fish we settled on without sticking his hand in to corner a fish. After bagging all the fish he handed me the bag. I asked if I needed a list of the fish for the cashier and he said it's okey. Confused I went to checkout and the cashier had to go and find the name of the fish by actually going and looking for the fish herself. Very long and slow process. I was only annoyed but my conversation with a manager convinced me to not give them my business again. Manager made excuses for employee and made NO attempt to apologies or attempt to rectify the situation.

Petco broke my service dog's leg

July 4th 2013 in Needham ma my greyhound's leg was broken in multiple parts due to incompetent grooming procedures. Pet co did pay some medical bills after I hired a lawyer which cost money out of pocket. I am suffering because she can no longer help me and my dog suffers permanent damage as she is off balance and bumps into things. Please keep your pets safe and stay away from pet co. I am paying vet bills out of pocket because of Pet co hires inexperienced groomers and many pets have died or have been disabled for life. Pet co take responsibility for your actions!

Petco in Needham MA will not trim our Guinea Pigs Nails? They refused this service -- so after they run out all the small shops for Pets who would do these services they cut them. Typical Chain Store BS.

How does something like that happen...

I would love for this owner to contact me. I too have a service dog that walked into the grooming shop, needed aide to get out of the building, another customer lifted him into the vehicle.

Next morning he was carried to the vehicle, and into the vet's office. X-rays were done and showed the L6 and L7 were compressed. He could not walk for over a week. A month later his limp did not go away, hip x-rays were done and a bone chip was found in the socket.

Hip replacement has been suggested. usarmylady@gmail.com Contact me please

I am so sorry for how they mistreated your dog. This kind of stuff angers me.

Poor baby. Hope your dog feels better soon.

Service dogs are not cheap and they become wonderful companions. Hope you win your case.

Petco's Negligence and the Abuse by the Grooming Department
To summarize the past few months please see the email below that I wrote to Petco in March. I have yet to receive a response from them. My mom has been writing back and forth to the insurance agent that Petco assigned and I feel that I’m just getting the run around....

I take my 11yr+ rescue pitt mix to Petco in Lebanon TN once a month to get bathed, teeth clean and nails done, usually painted pink. They are excellent and since moving to Nasville I still take her back to Danielle in Lebanon. Sorry for others that had bad experiences for their babies

A couple weeks ago, i went to buy a leopard gecko, then whenever we had asked for help, all of the reptile sales associates came to us. Talking rather rudely towards my mother and I. Telling us that we could put our leopard gecko in sand, yet PETCO had them in sand. ...

http://www.geckosetc.com/htm/care.htm#housing

From what is sounds like, this employee was well aware that the geckos weren't taken care of properly, and was knowledgeable on proper care of leopard geckos.

Just reading the above link, you can see that they DO in fact need a wet hide so they have a moist area when they shed, that the calcium reptile sand that petco has them in isn't the best for them, and that live food is best. As for water, the above link says they should have it available at least a few times a week, and this link says they should have clean fresh water available at all times.http://www.leopardgecko.co.uk/documents/caresheet/food.htm Personally, I'd have water available at all times, as what is the harm?

I definitely agree that PETCO neglects their animals, but don't agree with your ideas on leopard gecko care.

PETCO's Negligence or Ignorance Cause my Dog's Death
On Jan. 14th we took our 9-year-old English Bulldog for a bath only. She had no health issues. Within 35-40 minutes from drop off time, Petco called and said we needed to pick Bella up, as she was having trouble breathing. (She was not breathing when we arrived at...

DM Army Post Road Petco has a terrible fish dept. manager. She grilled me about what kind of tank I had, how big it was, how many fish I already had, how big they were and tried to tell me what I could and couldn't put in my tank. It is none of her business what I...

I had this same issue with an employee in a Beaverton, OR location. I have had tanks for a long time and she almost wouldn't sell me a fish because she didn't agree with how I home them. It was very rude and degrading.

Ok, I think I understand what went on...so let me try and explain.

Yes, you do need shots before they can accept your dog. There is no way around it, it is for the safety of the groomers and other dogs in the salon.

They were right to turn you away while the groomer was near the end of his/her shift. They NEVER work on a single dog all the way through. They have too many clients to service in a shift to do that, and owners who expect it need to get in touch with reality. If you need this service make sure you discuss it when booking your appointment.

You will be charged extra, and they will try to book you on a slower day.

Alright, now to the tongue issue. Everyone loves their dogs. I love my dog, he's like family. By taking him to a grooming salon, you have decided that you cannot/will not groom the dog yourself.

The groomers are professionals and they don't enjoy harming pets. Some dogs, and puppies, can be more difficult to groom. They lick while a groomer scissors around their face, they thrash when they hear the sound of the clippers, and they try to *** because they don't like having their feet touched. As a result sometimes accidents do happen.

Your groomer was probably written up or received points on her record because of the incident, and they probably felt genuinely bad about nicking the dog's tongue. If you're still upset about what happened just don't go back.

It really is that simple. Just understand that it could have happened at any salon.

Although I'm sorry you were misinformed by the staff, there are many ways you can comment/complain in a more PRODUCTIVE way then to post here.
