Petco in Indiana, Pennsylvania - Horrible Customer Service

I have been shopping at petsmart at indiana till petco opened then i thought i would go in and look around to see what good stuff they were selling at petco. Well every time I have went there I have been overcharged. Every single time i leave the store i have to come back because i am overcharged on mutiple things. It's so frusrating. Plus the employees are not friendly at all. Very very bad store and I refuse to do my business there anymore. It's frusrating that I have to take my time to drive back to the indiana store and waste my gas to argue with an employee to make them see that my math is correct and they overcharged me. If it was a couple dollars i would let it go but one time it was by like 20 dollars! To me this is Completely Unacceptable.

first of all while I can sympathize with being overcharged. after the first time it happened why on earth would you leave the store a second time without checking the receipt?

then you'd save time & $$$ from gas wasting as you say. mistakes can/do happen if they're happening as much as you say then someone in the store needs to step up and correct them but you as the consumer should also be diligent and read your receipt that's why you get them.

Petco in Monroe, Louisiana - HORRIBLE customer service based in foreign country

The phone call mentioned in post on Dec 31st DID NOT yield a refund. Nothing was "processed" and the '14 days' came and went...so apparently calling Petco is an absolute waste of time as well.

January 20th came around and Petco responded to the original email I had sent asking where my stuff was. The email was written as if this was the first time they had ever contacted me and they once again claimed that they were just contacting the people who send out the product and the item was lost. Again...wth? They then asked what I wanted to do...AGAIN..did I want a replacement..or a refund?

AGAIN....I sent a reply asking why I was having to answer this email? That I had asked for a refund SEVERAL times via email and also via phone and how many times did I have to ask before it actually happened? Amazingly, I finally got my refund. Petco wasted hours of my time, lied to me via email and via phone.

Never again.

I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Ever.

Ordered an item. After a month of tracking numbers that didnt work, emails from CSRs in such broken English that I could barely understand them, conflicting emails that gave me different information (one email: "you will be receiving a refund"...then 2snd email 4 minutes later: "your shipment is just late and you will receive soon" in terrible English)..I demanded clarification after a month..something via email that said "Ignore the other emails. You will be getting a refund" but they just stopped answering me and refused to give me any more information. Finally called Petco and got someone I could barely understand who did try to help me, but it was such a struggle to understand the broken English, that it took many tries on both of our ends to convey what we were trying to get across. I was promised a refund that may take 14 days, after a 48 hour process to even start the refund. Never again will I order or purchase anything from Petco. This was, hands down, the WORST online purchase I have ever made.

Petco in Tucker, Georgia - Dead Animals and Horrible Handling

I have always chosen Petco over Petsmart. I'm starting to rethink my decision. In the past year, I can not tell you how many dead betta fish and other fish I have found dead in their tank that have clearly been there longer than a day (because they are very fleshy and rotting). I've found a dead parakeet, and a dead mouse. When I went to look for a new hamster back in June, I asked to hold a couple. The first one the worker tried to take out was very aggressive, and I told him "Nevermind, I don't want that one. Can I see the one in the top cage?" He said sure, got on his stepladder, and attempted to get this hamster out of the cage. When I saw this one was equally aggressive, I told him he didn't have to get it out of the cage- though, he continued to try. He dropped the hamster on the tile flooring, from about 6-7ft up, and it died. I do understand accidents happen, but it seems every time I go in there to look for a pet, they do not know how to handle them.

Petco in Monroe, Louisiana - Over a week just to ship?

Ordered from petco. Took over a week to even ship the item (which just had a label created but still cannot be tracked via UPS)..I live 3 hours from a town and if I had known it would take over a week to ship, and that item would be shipping right before Christmas (further delay)..I would have taken the time to drive the 6 hour round trip to pick up the item. I use online ordering to help ease the distance, but I am now looking at 2 weeks to receive an item. I also signed up for their emails to get the 20% off, but was then told I cannot use that discount on the item I ordered. They were offering free shipping at the time, but I would not recommend their free shipping. It is apparently very low priority if it takes over a week to get the item out of a building and on its way to you.

Petco in Bensalem, Pennsylvania - Online experience

Customer service is not based in the United States. She could not locate if my order was available in any of the warehouses. When I became frustrated at her lack of knowledge and couldn't understand her, I asked to speak to someone in the United States. She indicated that they had no customer service in the United States. At the end of the conversation she still could not tell me if or when my order will be delivered (I ordered the item 17 days ago). I asked to cancel the order and she said she had to call me back. Actually every question I asked her, she had to put me on hold to find out the answer. I will never order from this company again.

I placed and online order at 8:10 am and called back that afternoon to cancel the order and was told I could not do that. I said I do not need the product any more and am calling right say so pet I can save on the shipping as I am going to return the product to the store when I get it.

Free shipping so I thought I was being a good guy doing this. So I figure they could not do it because it was ready to ship and I would understand that . Not it is 3 dats latter and I just get a notification that it shipped.

So not canceling the order had nothing to do with it being ready to ship they just didn't want to do it . It will not be that big of a deal for me to return if so it us there loss As I will never purchase another product from them again.

I had this same nightmare. I couldn't understand half of what was being told to me via email.

Lines like "This may ships yes. Most probably yes you must have this"...WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?

I felt like I was emailing Yoda. Horrible customer service who really don't give a *** if you actually get what you ordered.

Another manager called us and said they were sorry we were treated like that, it isn't their policy. The manager who did it was brought into the office, confronted, and has been written up for poor customer service which is now part of his permanent record as an employee there.

We have been invited back into the store to try them again.

There really isn't much incentive since we have had so many issues and have found PetSmart much friendlier and efficient, but will keep them in mind to try again in a couple of years. My suggesting to PetCo...frequent secret shoppers for an extended period to iron out the customer service issues.

I have always used Petco with all of my animals, never used anywhere else. Today i went to return some training pads that my new puppy didnt like and Petco claimed that they never carried that brand

Simple Solution is the brand. He insisted that Petco never carried that brand. I turned him around and he saw that they did carry that, but didnt carry the product i was returning. I was very polite and he said to me "you're getting more upset and so am I, so, we need to end this". Not the behaviour of a manager. I think Petco is a scam. How dare they tell me that? I went to Petsmart and the manager there said that the manager at Petco could have easily given me a store credit. I cant remember his name.

They may carry that brand and not carry that specific product. If it's not in their system how are they to give you a refund? Or resell such item?

Petco in Morgantown, Kentucky - Fish

My daughter has several fish tanks, one is a 75 gallon. We were told that we had to lie to allow them to sell us fish! They would not sell to us if goldfish and guppies were in the same tank! My daughter has had the same goldfish for 3 years one is from a game at the state fair. We have had many guppies born, they all live in harmony. We were told that it was bad and they are not suppose to sell to customers who abuse fish, and we were abusers. They sell feeder fish? We will not go back.

Actually the reason is that goldfish are cold water fish, and guppies are tropical fish. Because they have different temperature requirements you can't house these two species together. It's weird that they didn't tell you about this rather than just denying you service...

I'm not really sure exactly where they got the abuse thing but I can explain a little be here. I work at Petco and they are trained that goldfish are to live in their own tank because they produce a high ammonia level.

Other freshwater fish that are not introduced into the tank properly will for sure die. HOWEVER, if you are someone who PROPERLY takes care of the tanks and checks the ammonia levels and so on there is no reason they cannot all survive together just fine.

As for the feeder fish, I am not exactly for those things for the simple fact that MOST Petcos treat them like trash and don't care if they are ill.
