After getting my Golden Retriever groomed on Monday, she was listless and feverish on Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday she was a little better but would not allow us to touch her back. After going to the vet we found her back was covered in sores and scratches which the...

I agree with the common on the skin issue. Bad stuff does not happen in front of customer there happen in the back where no one can see it

I had to laugh when I seen this ridiculous post clearly the work of an disgruntled employee. Due to the date of this post and the poor spelling we all know who you are!

I worked with Karen at Petco and she would never conduct herself in that manner. you should be ashamed of yourself for posting such ridiculous lies!

I was in line when I told the cashier I forgot to grab something real quick. She said that was ok. When I came back, the old white lady behind me was upset and demanded that I get behind her. I explained that the cashier told me it was ok to leave and come back. I...

So you got a $10 discount because wah wah wah you couldn't deal with someone else being taken care of while you ran back for something and the discount you got FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wasn't enough? Wow that's so rude..

Lazy Store Manager cost Petco my Business

I went to the Petco in Valencia Ca. tonight to get some frontline Plus for my new dog. They were selling a 3 Pack for 54.99 on sale @ Costco it sells for 69.00 for a 6 pack. the manager said he would price match for me I wrote my check for the sale price plus tax. The check wouldn't go through there reader. I spent 45 min. waiting for the manager to complete my transaction. He not only did not give me the sales price but refused to put in the #s manually like the dog trainer told him to (on bottom of check) but told me to pay by another method. I asked for the manager he said he was the only one.I told him I was never coming back there and to keep my card because I wouldn't be needing it. In this economy you really should treat customers better. I went to Walmart and got the 3 pack of frontline Plus for 39.00 there reg. price which is 26 Dollars less than Petco's reg. price for a three pack.

Petco in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Do not groom your dog here - isn't worth it.

We went to get the very first haircut for our 4 month old soft coated wheaten terrier. As any other breed, wheatens require a specific style of cut - not just regular plain shave. Well - needless to say that plain shaving cut was what we got.Now our puppy looks like a jack russell terrrier (nothing against this breed - but c'mon! we have a wheaten terrier!!) A groomer of significant age was completely indifferent to all of our requests prior to the procedure and just seemed to be almost a robot - "i'm here to cut the dogs hair - and that's what I'm doing.Period". We are NEVER going back there for grooming! It may cost a little less than private groomers (which I'm not sure about, because PetCo charged us $61 for a puppy...how much more can a private charge?). My advise is - if you have a specific breed that requires a specific haircut/style,try to find a groomer that specializes in your breed,or at least someone who is a little more compassionate to your dog's look than PetCo groomers are.

First of all,we received the dog from breeder at the age of 3 months - recently groomed and very well taken care off. Second - he was not matted, and the groomer even commented on that, because we take care of our puppy regularly and groom him every day.Really. And we are fully aware of the breed requirements. The fact that groomer was entirely incompetent to properly cut our wheaten terrier has absolutely nothing to do with our ownership "issues" you seem to be concerned about.

I would bet your puppy was matted and HAD to be shaved short. Really, you waited until four months of age for a first groom?

There's absolutely no excuse for that. Poor puppy, please remember dogs (especially scwt's) require regular grooming, particularly if you demand a breed specific style.

Petco trainer killed our puppy

We took our beloved 4 month old English bulldog puppy to Petco puppy class, but we never dreamed we would come home without her. That night, her trainer pulled her up off the ground by her leash, she vomited, collapsed and died moments later at a vet down the road. Petco refused to take disciplinary action against their trainer or to further the education of their trainers. They obviously do not know how to properly handle animals. They reported their trainer acted within their standard practice of care. I am sick. DO NOT go to puppy class at PETCO. Seek out certified professionals, which Petco does not employ. Unfortunately we found this out too late.

Where was this? This happened in my hometown.

Was this you?

Spread the word! I'm sorry for your loss.

I just want to say that this is NOT the Petco standard. The trainers at my store would NEVER do something like this.

This trainer obviously was not qualified and should have been fired for doing anything even remotely like that. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, but this is not the company standard and this is not a common occurence in our stores.

I'm a groomer at Petco and have been for almost three years and this would have never happened at my store. Our trainers are fantastic.

This is awful...and anyone who has ever had an English bulldog would know this is not 'bs' (as so eloquently stated by that *** "BS") any trainer should know that any brachycephalic breed should NEVER be restricted via their airway! This could ABSOLUTELY happen in seconds by an over aggressive untrained "wannabe dog trainer". Good luck in your fight in memory of your little girl.

For your dog to DIE from being picked up by it's leash and choked you would have had to stand around like an *** for a couple of minutes allowing the abuse. I call BS on this, no pet parent of a "beloved" animal would watch this happen to their pet without reacting in a time period that would save the animal's life.

@BS

Don't be *** BS...English Bulldogs are a brachy breed...they should NEVER be restricted by putting pressure on the airway....it only takes a few seconds....I own Berners....and would never ever do this to my big breed...let alone a bulldog. By the time you can react...it can be too late for a bulldog!

Good thing it wasn't my pup..that trainer needs to be fired..and Petco has lost my business....keep the PAL points...my 4 Berners and a Bischon will find another place to groom. Not worth the risk!

We placed an order on the Petco website, as we've done many times, and they sent out the order twice - charged our card twice. Well, we sent the duplicate order back and Petco received it over a week ago. Did they credit our card back? Nope. We had to call and go...

It takes the company 3 to 5 business days to send the refund to your bank/credit card but there may be additional time following based on your financial institution's policy as well. Plus it is common sense that a company won't begin a refund until it receives the items back.

You're ignoring things like time to process your shipment (because let's be honest this is a large corporation, you're not the only mail they receive), time for them to then issue the refund and time for your credit card company to then apply the refund to.your account. You are basically an ***.

Rats, mice, gerbils & hamsters all take their food from their bowls and hide it in the corners of the cage and in their little houses. As the other commenter stated just because there is no food in the bowl does not mean there is not food in the habitat.

Also the animals *** in their bowls all day, everyday. However employees arrive hours before opening to care for the animals. The bowls are washed/replaced every morning and filled with fresh food.

Also the animals are checked hourly by the employees. I'm sorry the manager was rude and didn't explain these things to you.

On the other hand the fact that there is no bedding in that habitat IS an issue and should be brought up to the employees/management.

Petco in Washington, District Of Columbia - Poor Managment

Beth jensen is a manager at the Vienna Petco in Virginia and she told me (an employee) to clean all the toilets in the back of the store with virex plus mop all the floors with the worst sarcasm ever. Because i complained to corporate before she bossed me around the next day i worked there. She also commanded me to scrub the whole store floors with a single toothbrush when i needed to be in the grooming salon. More happened but i think that is just crazy. She then didnt let me go on my ten minute break unless it was an emergency, so i made one up just to stop being bossed around like a slave.
