Archaic Return System

I exchanged a light for my turtles on the 5th by the 15th it had burnt out so I went on my lunch break today to return and get my money back. When I exchanged my original item they kept my original receipt AND gave me a 'return receipt' Well guess what ladies and gents if you don't want to shop there anymore and just want your money back you're SOL if they give you a return receipt. I was told the systems weren't connected and they could not call the other store and make them look up the receipt. They would not look it up on my card they told me I would have to go back to original store where I made the exchange. Too bad it's over 100 mi away from me! All I wanted was cash back the cash I paid for the item. And all I received was a bunch of excuses. Hey Petco, this is why no one shops at your ghetto store! Get with the times. Look up receipts or I dunno give people back their ORIGINAL receipts!!

Do not use PETCO Grooming services

I just took my 15 year old dog to the PETCO Grooming. First, they said they would call between 2-3 hours. As it approached 3 hours, I went back to PETCO to wait for my dog. While walking in, I could see from the window that things were not going well. The woman was doing something to his front left paw that he clearly did not like and as he attempted to *** her, she yanked his back left leg. Although I understand the biting is not acceptable, her reaction was too extreme. In this example and knowing my dog well, I know that even if he did *** it wouldn't hurt and that he is a very nice dog. I would have much preferred to see the woman leave my dog alone for a minute and then retry to do whatever it was she was trying to do before. Animals cannot speak or truly fight back when they are mistreated. A dog is another member of someone's family and to see an employee who signed up for a job working with dogs treat him so wrong is disgusting and unacceptable.

Arrogance

Just a note to your Keller Tx. Location.

I shop all salt water stores in the surrounding metro plex and this store on occasion . On a recent visit I had noticed a revamp in your aquatic department and was excited to see this. I was looking for a gentleman named Dennis who I had dealt with in the past in two locations, the other being your Hurst location. I was told he was no longer with the company which surprised me as I had dealt with him in years past.

That was my first disappointment! In looking through your stock in salt water another disappointment as it wasn't as I thought it would be. Fish in major distress and failing in health as noticed in your coral bay as well. In my observations I was standing back and listening to an employee named Heath dealing with a few customers and I could not believe how arrogant this young man was in commenting on surrounding fish stores and his knowledge surrpassing others.

Unbelievable! I believe you lost an asset to your stores in Dennis not being there! Not saying I will never shop a Petco again but definitely not this location. I hope this location well in the future and maybe find another person with a better attitude and not claiming to be the "All Knowing" in this department.

Again Dennis was a loss for you as he never claimed to be "All Knowing" and always learning more as I do.

I hope I can find Dennis in another store in the area. Good luck Keller Petco!

What a terrible service may be is the reason this location hwy 6 and bissonet the oarking lot is empty terrible manager and employees Im trying to get a flea product for 49 bucks and found a coupon online frim petco.com said not code required and this guy went to her manager who was having a conversation with a peron and laughing and bla bla bla never come out with an answer and I wait for this for so long just this guy said no we cant take the coupon and they follow this *** conversation with the guy and an iguana in her chest Thank you for nothing of course you miss my money and i dont get the flea product just my dog food but this will be my last time here I know you gus sorry to say it but i dont beleive you survive with this unrespectfule employes who dont care about the really important... Took my dog to be groomed at Petco on Ave Y in Brooklyn, N.Y.

We took my dog for his 1:00 p.m. grooming appointment.

While we were there another dog came in and the girl in the front desk left me to take care of him saying that she will be right back. Another girl came out to take my info. It was 1:30 p.m. by now.

The girl told us to come back at 3:30, which we did. At that time they told us another hour. We came back and were told that he was not groomed yet, just bathed. The groomer said she had a difficult dog and it was taking a long time.

We should leave my dog for another 3 hrs. Mind you, my dog was caged all this time. He was given water, but was still caged up. The groomer said she bathed him.

I bathe him at home. I brought him in to have his hair and nails cut. My husband was livid at this situation. We took our dog and went home.

He was starving and practically inhaled his food. I calmed my husband down and called Petco's manager, who said he was sorry this happened and asked me to hold on while he went to investigate. He came back on the line and said the other groomers left for the day and the groomer had a difficult dog. The manager would give us a $5 Coupon for next time.

I told the manager how unprofessional the grooming staff was. We were there 3:30. They could have told us he was not groomed yet. I will never take my dog there to be groomed.

My experience with the store has been positive until now. I feel so bad door my dog.

I wonder how many people just let them do this to them. Maybe the management should check their groomers more diligently.

The biggest problem I'm having with this complaint is that you said you brought your dog in at 1pm and took it home between 3:30 and 4:30pm (I didn't quite catch that one)...Why in the world was your dog STARVING after 4-ish hours without food?

I know some people leave food out 24/7 for their pets, but it should have been fine for 4 hours.

They could have easily called and let the family know it would be longer than expected and explain the situation over the phone. It's *** that they had to waste gas (which isn't cheap!) to be told to come back later. The world doesn't have to "cater" to people, but others should be more considerate.

Bedbugs from petco shipment

I ordered online, three cat scratchy, kneading products. They look like corregated cardboard in a shirt box. They arrived three days after online purchase. I, and the cats were thrilled. The ad online boasted that each product comes with a bag of catnip. They did indeed come with a bag of catnip, but it was all moldy. You could smell the mold. I threw the bags of catnip away. I put the cat scratchy boxes on the floor for the cats to play with. Within a week I had bedbugs in my house. I have lived here for 11 years, never once had bedbugs. I believe these bugs came from/in the shipment. I threw everything out. It has cost me all my furniture, my state of well being and hundreds of dollars. Beware.............and my cats still have nothing to scratch on...............................

Rude employees and clueless management

This is not the first time ive had a bad experience at this petco the first was in the grooming salon by a very rude girl named sarah this time i asked for help locating something the girl just pointed and walked away i went to look for someone and i found every employee even the managers hanging out in the back they didnt even notice i was in the store one of the other girls from the grooming department saw me & came out to help I might have Better luck at another petco! Im done with the gc store!

What exactly did you want Sarah to do, hold your hand and lead you to the product, the other person forgot to mention one thing about calling her a girl, you call her a girl yet you want her to hold your hand and lead you to the product as if you are a little kid holding mommy's hand, it is a pretty small store, if you cannot find an item after someone points you in the direction perhaps shopping with a parent will help?

Gift card I was not able to use online

I received a gift card for 65$. On the back it said that I could use it online and in the store. I tried purchasing online and it would not work so I called petco. They said I could not use it online. I said it says in the back of the card that I can use it online. The customer service says I cant use it online. so much for outsourcing Petco because the people you have hired for customer service in Philippines thinks its ok to not validate what you have stated on the back of your cards. I have never heard of something so ridiculous. when you have it on the back of the card to use on like then just say sorry its not possible to use it online. Never again petco. never again. you have no morals.

DEAD GRASS

I personally have watered the pet grass for Petco, since they seem not to care about it. I have complained and even gone to corporate. If they can't care for grass.....makes me wonder about the other live animals, fish, and others..... so done with petco! I have spoke with the manager and the corporate about this store many times. Sometimes it smells so bad. Then there are the lines..... one register open and associates standing around while 5 or more customers are in line. I asked this day to speak with the manager Peggy only to find out she was on vacation. No one attempted to open another register...we all just waited and said we would be looking else where for our pet supplies because they certainly don't care when you draw attention to the bad service!!!!!!!!!!!

Rude, nasty, fake fish tec. oneonta ny

I have been a repeat customer for a very long time. and spend hundreds of dollars a week their.

I set up tanks for people and this is were I would go until several people have told me about this tylor fake tec. that is a very nasty, rude person when talking to him. and you would like to smack him in his face. and they will not go back there.

I have not dealt with him until a couple days ago. boy were they right he has no clue about the fish. just makes up stories when you ask him about a problem with your fish. I watched him sell a few fish to a young coulpe that had no idea that they had ick.

so now they will put them in their tank and infect the rest of their fish. what a joke,, he was even nasty with me when I asked him a question about the fish in the tanks there that always have ick. and why is he selling them to people. he gave me a dirty look and even walked away from me.

which was a good thing for him. so I guess I will be taking my business to another pet store.and word of mouth goes along way

We went in the oneonta location on7/10/2016 to be mocked by the employes.After I had asked for a price on a fish we were walking away and they mimicked us. That will be the last time there unless somthing changes

Petco aurora co: today I witnessed a dog being mauled by a groomer named JEN. When I reported to manager the manager talked to the groomers and they began laughing. I was horrified and contacted Petco's corporate office and a local Cruelty Investigator who works with law inforcement. They asked me if I would like to speak to the groomer and I replied ABSOLUTELY NOT. Unbelievably she came out anyway and I told her I was reporting her. Finally I asked the woman at the cash register how she could work next to the groomers with only a clear window in between when there was clearly abuse going on. She said: "I just don't look."

At least you're one of the decent people who report animal abuse when they see it, and not one of the people who see it and just complain to themselves or the person they are with. Thank you!!

Also, I think the cashier should have reported it, too.

They can do it anonymously, but they would be able to report on how bad/regular the abuse is.

Her saying she just doesn't look *** me off so bad!!! She's no better than the person who is doing the abuse!

Went to the Petco in Temple Texas, there was this overweight, grumpy woman named JoAnn working there. She was on register and just seemed irritated and unhappy the entire time she was there. Didn't greet me as I walked in the store and had a monotone voice that have the impression she'd rather be somewhere else. Very disappointed in the service

PETCO in Houma Lousiana has THE most rudest employees

A couple weeks ago, i went to buy a leopard gecko, then whenever we had asked for help, all of the reptile sales associates came to us. Talking rather rudely towards my mother and I.

Telling us that we could put our leopard gecko in sand, yet PETCO had them in sand. They told us that we needed a wet hide for their shed time, which they did not, along with a gecko shedding. They told us that we needed to feed them live food, they had dead worms in their bowls. Also we had been told by the rude sales associates that the leopard geckos need water at all times.

The poor pets had the EXACT OPPOSITE of everything that was being said. You are not supposed to put more than one leopard gecko in a tank, they had about 8 geckos in a 1 foot by 1 foot tank. Needless to say i will never be buying anything from PETCO ever again.

People need to be aware of the neglect, and rudeness of all PETCOS I've been to.

From what is sounds like, this employee was well aware that the geckos weren't taken care of properly, and was knowledgeable on proper care of leopard geckos.

Just reading the above link, you can see that they DO in fact need a wet hide so they have a moist area when they shed, that the calcium reptile sand that petco has them in isn't the best for them, and that live food is best. As for water, the above link says they should have it available at least a few times a week, and this link says they should have clean fresh water available at all times.http://www.leopardgecko.co.uk/documents/caresheet/food.htm Personally, I'd have water available at all times, as what is the harm?

I definitely agree that PETCO neglects their animals, but don't agree with your ideas on leopard gecko care.

My only comment on this is that a store will almost always house animals together before they are sold, being that they are young and will usually tolerate more than one in a tank. How can you expect them to keep one animal per tank? There would be no room for anything else.

It's a bit unfair to blame the company because most of your issues are the fault of the people working in that store. The reason they'll tell you things that they themselves aren't doing is because they're a store and they're selling those animals.

The animals don't live their for years. You aren't a business. The animals in the store are living in a pet store and that's a stressful environment for them, and the workers (if they're good at what they do) should be doing all they can to help alleviate that stress. But they are a business and to set up a complete habitat for every single animal would be ridiculously time consuming and would only make whatever problems exist even worse.

It sounds like the people working in that store are idiots who have no idea what they're talking about and you have every right to call Corporate to complain about it. Petcos have managers who don't work in the store and are above the managers in the store. There's at least one manager who deals ONLY with animals and another one or two who deal with everyone else. The animal manager will launch an immediate investigation into whatever you complain about as far as the way the store itself is treating the animals.

I'm doing this anonymously because I work in a Petco and don't feel like getting fired. I'm sorry the *** in that particular store treated you that way. There's no excuse for that. Just remember my first point about the way we keep our animals vs.

the way we instruct you to. The animals are in the store temporarily before a good person like yourself, who respects them buys them and the advice we give you is to ensure that YOU have the sufficient knowledge to treat the animals well so you can give them a good life.

If you don't trust things they say, research it yourself. Never get all your info from one source and don't accept at face value what anyone tells you.

Petco Needham Ma. 7/4/13 Broke my greyhound's leg when grooming her. Total neglect on their part. I never got a straight answer but they claim she jumped out of the tub and over a wall and landed on her right side resulting in severe injury. Why was she not leashed?I was told to take her to an emergency vet and they would pay. I have not been paid. They promised to pay the vat and have not. I was going on a trip for my 50th birthday and petco ruined it for me. I am handicapped and she is my companion dog. Petco says she is just considered a possession. She will never be the same and the company Petco has turned the claim over to will not pay for my mental anguish or her long term medical bills. Heck, they have not paid anyone yet. My 5 year old greyhound is in pain and she does cry. How do I deal with Petco ? SEE PIC'S

"Concerned," how is your opinion in any way "professional?" Show us your vet's degree or dog training credentials.

While I agree the vet bills should be paid, when you go into ANY grooming salon, you sign a paper that says you agree to let the groomers handle your dog.

If your dog is unruly or does not take to being groomed, then you should do it yourself.

If you are not physically able to care for a dog, then perhaps you shouldn't own one. They require a great deal of care.

Update: She needs to have another surgery in some weeks to remove wires and pins which are holding her leg together. I am glad she did not loose her leg.

Her leg is disfigured but she will be able to walk. Sadly she will most likely never be able to be a service dog again and she is very nervous and jumpy from her horrific grooming experience at Per Co.

I'm not going to disagree with the fact that they owe you the dogs medical bills and any bills you took as a direct cause of this. Don't give us your BS of "mental anguish" I hope they don't pay you that. I hope if you sue the courts don't make PetCo pay that either. Why do people always expect to be over compensated for a tragedy or an accident. Had they hurt you due to an accident they caused, fine, you deserve something for your pain. Guess what, it's a dog. It jumped and hurt itself. It's an animal, not a human being.

Sorry if I sound cruel, I'm not trying to. I'm looking at this at a business/law point of view. People need to realize what really happened.

"It's an animal not a human being"? A life is a life and the fact that you are minimizing this individuals life is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Yes, it's extremely callous and ignorant to look at an animal as "just an animal". They live, breath, feel pain and happiness. And actually, Petco's negligence did in fact cause mental anguish, especially due to the circumstance. Having your dogs leg shattered 2 days prior to a 11 day vacation that was saved for, for quite sometime, ruining her vacation! Furthermore, needing to speak with the vet and the caregiver several times a day for updates, not to mention the problems she's continuing to have. That to me is absolutely mental anguish cause by high stress.

All the money in the world couldn't bring back the quality of life for that dog. Being stressed and in suspense each and everyday, awaiting news from the vet due to ongoing complications is absolutely mental anguish. If it applies to humans it should apply to animals who bring so much joy into people's lives. Oh and last but not least the dog is a companion dog for a woman who is handicapped. That is priceless!!!

Grow a heart which a vast majority of you lawyers seem to lack.

You also state "people need to realize what really happened ". So tell us, what RELY happened? Petco employee I presume.
