Well, now you are just making the assumption that all Petco stores are bad which is not true. There is no perfect store out there.

I am sure there is a Petsmart that is bad too. You can't just generalize all the Petco stores as being horrible.

They are not your rats though, they are petco's. They are in charge of what the rats eat so you shouldn't be giving them treats that are considered junk food, even for humans.

The manager said don't do it.

If you wanted to give them something extra I would have asked him if it's ok at all and if so what is ok to feed them. I think you getting fired was an acceptable response.

Since reward dollars are in increments of $5 and they gave you "a little over $23.00" I find your story to be ***. Also in order to have earned $200 in rewards you would have had to spend $4,000 which I doubt you did if a soft shell carrier is too expensive for you.

Do not bash a company for your own incompetence.

The way the card works is given to you when you apply plus you can ask anyone in a store or go online or call the pals customer service. It is in no way petco's fault you're ***..

Grooming at Port Arthur Petco

I will gladly say I will not be returning to their grooming saloon. I have a 2 pound miniature yorkie poo. We arrived early for a 9:30 a.m. appointment. Here it was at 4:14 p.m. and she was still not ready. Needless to say I went there and told them I want my dog groomed or not, she's been here for 7 hours. There's no reason why she would not be ready! I then found out she spent 7 hours there just to be shampooed and dried, i'm not a happy person right now. They did not make me pay and I would not of paid any ways. I find that extremely unacceptable.

I completely agree with you. I am truly sorry you had a bad experience.

I am a groomer at petco. I love the company and have never had an issue. We try to get everyone in and out asap! At times we run behind with calls, appointments & babies needing their nails trim.

If this were to occur we call mom & dad and let them know we are running a little behind. Where is Port Arthur?

It has become apparant to me that I need to work on my communication skills. The point of this complaint was not to whine that I did not win the contest.

I don't care about the contest. Secondly, my apologies to being taken to the wrong site. Perhaps this site is for those whose issues are more severe than my complaint, but it was recommended that I let Petco know that I was 'put off' by the way the contest was run. I do still believe it is unethical to have employees of a store become winners of a contest, but perhaps that's just me.

If nothing else, it seems as though I have given quite a few people a reason to laugh on a site that contains so much animosity. Again, please accept my apologies for coming to a site used to report more serious issues.

i took my dog in (2) dakota is good suzie i told the girl use mouth piece she bites, she responded as if i know my job i got her back with razer burns and nerv. petco states not my problem i love my dogs they are my children it cost almost 600.00 dollars to have her taken care of they did not take care of my dog suzie they will not take respnonsbildy of there mistake she would not eat, wobbled, and *** in the bed thats not her they were bad with my puppy i will have to cont. this with ? all they have to do is pay for her meds and visit they have always been good with my dogs this time there was a mistake it happens just admitt and we will go on

PETCO - False advertising on your rewards program

False advertising on your rewards program. I signed up in January for PALS rewards, spent $564.32 since then which should result in $28.21 in rewards money. I got some emails about my rewards expiring and tried to place an order but IT NEVER WORKED. I tried about 5 times - even calling customer service who told me the shopping cart wasn't working. Now I go in to place an order and my rewards points are gone and when I called they said too bad. Oh I also mentioned my last shipment came all broke open. If you want to lose a customer over this that is your choice so I'll be taking my business over to PetFoodDirect.com not your other company as I've done my homework. Not to mention I am an ecommerce developer so if I couldn't get it to work, then it wasn't working.

Although they recently changed this program, at the time when you posted; the rewards that you earned in the store could not be used for online purchases. I'm not sure if you spent the $564 online or in the store, but if it was in the store than that is why they didn't work.

From my experiences, the PALS customer service is usually awesome. As long as you call them and are polite, they will reinstate your coupons plus an additonal $5 coupon.

There is fine print in any type of reward program, and if you don't read it and/or understand it; then that's on you. Most companies will forgive that and help you out, but if you're rude (which by the tone of these postings, I'm going to assume you were) NOBODY will want to help you.

Don't duh me - the shopping cart did not work when I got the email they were going to expire. I tried 3 times and even called but they said it was down.

Let me break it down for you - I DIDN'T GET 1 REWARD PENNY much less anything else.

Oh yeah, did I mention I own a marketing company? Great.

Wow....did u ever read the part that says once u spend $100 u get a $5 coupon for ur next purchase, u also have to use the coupon within 2 weeks. They aren't good forever. If u would have spent $564.32 all at one time then that would have given u $25 in rewards and you would have spend $64.32 towards getting another $5 coupon.

Petco Fort Smith

I worked at the location and would like to know why Petco is so cheap that they have not fixed the fact that there is no air conditioning for the sick and overstocked animals that are kept in the back. It is cruel and a company that claims to care so much for animals just acts like it is not an issue. They turn the air conditionind up so high after store hours to save money that when the store opens the animals that are kept are overheated and usually sick so much so that they have to put iced water bottles in with the animals to keep cool. This is cruel and i will continue to complain until this issue is resolved.
