I have kept rats as pets for a long time now, and within the past few years I have started taking in rescues. Previously, all of my rats have been from Petsmart (which are wonderful, healthy, and long lived). However, the rescues I have taken in have been cheap feeder...

Petco in Londonderry, New Hampshire - Holiday shopping online

I'm very disappointing. I ordered a Petsafe wireless fence system and extra wireless collar early this week with overnight shipping. I took advantage of holiday promotions and my Pals discount. a) I was told the Wireless Fence System is back-ordered - this did not show on the website when I added it to my cart. I would have looked elsewhere if I knew. b) The wireless collar, although shipped 2-3 day expedited shipping, will arrive on Dec 28th - 8 days after ordering. c) Who knows when the backordered Petsafe system will arrive. This is certainly below par in comparison to the rest my online holiday shopping.

Petco hurt my dog

We took our two dogs in for grooming - made an appointment for 11AM. Told the groomer not to shave them. We were told they would be ready at 4PM. We called at 4 and were told it would be around 5. We arrived at 5:15, but the dogs weren't ready. Chuck said it would be another 30 minutes. He finally finished at 6:10. Both dogs had been shaved back and one had a bloody nail from trimming it too far back. It's two days before the start of winter and I have two dogs with practically no coats. When I called the manager to complain, I got a half-hearted apology. Knowledge of grooming? I give Chuck a zero for taking the easy way out in shaving my dogs. Execution of service? I give them a zero for cutting my dog. BTW, at least one other dog was cut the same day. Customer service? Another zero for an indifferent attitude after theninjurybwas brought to their attention. Yeah, I'm pissed

I have been grooming for a very long time. Mostly private shops. It amazes me how pet owners ae so unknowledgable about their pets. The first words out of their mouths is "I don't want my dog shaved" . You can see that the dog has not been groomed or brushed in months. I tell the owner that the dog has to be shaved. Their is no choice when the coat is matted, pelted to the skin.

A lot of time dogs that struggle while grooming/bathing can rupture a vein in the eye. Some just get very bloodshot. There is nothing a groomer can do but not groom your dog. Groomers work very hard for the had earned money, most time just 50% commission with no benefits in private shops.

Why don't the pet owners take responsibility and stop blaming the grooming industry for all the drama. Owners need to train their dogs to be better behaved. Why don't some owners try to do what a groomer does doing a groom. Clean ears, trim nails, brush out knots, bath and finish the groom. This is all done while the dog is snapping, biting, peeing and pooping on the table. So people GET A LIFE!! and stop blaming everybody else for your own stupidity.

you groomers must be petco groomers. i'm a groomer of 29 years.

you don't just shave a dog with out discussing it with the customer.you promise a time you do your best to be as close to that as possible. i workied at petco for just over 7 years. i trained groomers there and we were ninth in the nation out of 1200 stores. then coporate got *** .

we were making then about 9 grand a week. we all left now they have idiots in the groom shop. i'm sure this is common all over the counry. the petco i worked at is in coeur 'd alene idaho.

but i'm sure they suck all over the country. keep up the good work petco you make it so easy for small business!!!!!!!!!

I'd just like to say that the reason they had to shave your dog was most likely because you were not taking proper care of him/her and was matted the to point where it would have been very painful for the dog to be brushed out. They weren't lazy or taking the easy way out.

We do anything we can to prevent harm to the dogs. And it is true about the clipped nail. We also don't leave it un medicated if it happens.

we stop the bleeding. So my advice is to take better care of your dog please.

What kind of dogs do you have? You should have signed a release when you left them that included your instructions and the length their coats were to be left, so I can't comment on your assertion that the groomer took the easy way out by shaving your dogs.

The week of Christmas is usually very busy but your dogs should have been ready for you in less than 5 hrs and at the very least you should have been contacted about any delays in their grooming. Where the too short toenail is concerned all a dog has to do is pull it's foot away at the wrong moment and even a groomer with much experience can get one too short.

Petco sells inferior dog harness that chokes small dogs

Not only are they overpriced but I made the mistake of trying to exchange a halter that choked my doggy when I walked her. When I returned shortly after the purchase they told me they could only give me a $1.00 credit since the item was discontinued (apparently they had other complaints on the harness). The assistant store manager was extremely rude and condescending and totally unprofessional. He is a sad example of the new management style who believes that "the customer is no longer right" with no regard to customer loyalty. This business is a prime example of another greedy powerful corporation selling merchandise they will not stand behind and bilk customers who cherish their pets by overpricing their merchandise. I've learned my lesson and will support the small pet stores who treat their customers without superior attitude.
