This lady is right in some respects. In the Petco atmosphere if you acknowledge a wrong by an employee and the store manager does not like what you acknowledged and who acknowledged it against, you have become a target for dismisal.

This is to bad because this could be a great place to work. But there are too many people in the Petco enviroment that have longevity on the job that should have been let go along time ago. To many good employees have walk through their doors only to find that those employees who have been working for the company along long time are very bias about other employees and customers. So the question is why doesn't Petco get rid of their bias employees?

These employees run off the good employee. The bias stick togather and its hard for the DM to see what is happening.

As long as the numbers are meant that all they care about. The employees go through this company like water.

Petco claims that when enrolled in their P.A.L.S. program, if you purchase 10 bags of dog food, they will send a coupon for a free bag. After purchasing 10 bags of dog food, staying with the same size and brand I received nothing. When I contacted their customer...

@Danielle....

Prices are high because PetCo gets a truck every week???? ROFLMAO!!!!!! What a lame argument! Prices are high because PetCo is one of the greediest companies out there. PetSmart receives a trucks a few times a week. Does that mean they should raise prices?

PetCo constantly short employee's pay, also, and it is a month's long battle to fix. They hope you won't notice!!!

Customers pay your salary, Danielle. If you don't appreciate that and don't treat them respectfully, then you are in the wrong business. Oh wait.... You work for PetCo! Silly me! You are exactly where you belong!

I bought a hamster for my daughter at Petco, Dale City VA March 4th, 2010. We were told by the associate not to handle her for a few days and let her get used to her home, put her in a quiet place, etc. We did that and unfortunately since I wasn't handling her I...

I have a problem with PETCO and I'm wondering what my next step should be. here's a bit of the back story. Our dog had been sprayed by a skunk in September. It was a small spot on her chest, but as you can imagine it smelled horrible. We brought her to PETCO...

Any time I have this sort of a problem I always call our local government representative, in Canada they are called MLA'S, then I call the reporters at the newspaper and t.v. stations who have people on staff that deal with consumer reports only, I always get some sort of response from whoever ripped me off, because those reporters are RELENTLESS when it comes to a good story---they sure don't want it blabbed all over the news...get calling...you might even be on T.V., I was, the reporter was fantastic---he was like a dog with a bone...good luck...

Petco Groomer cut a tendon...neglect??

Anyone wanna give a polite opinion on a groomer at PetCo not only nicking our toy poodle's leg but completely cutting through her achilles tendon? Seriously??? don't see how this is anything but neglect! after a 3hr surgery, an overnight visit at a unfamiliar vet hospital, 24 hrs of worry, she is finally home. 4-6wks with a splint, 4-6 additional weeks of therapy...she might not ever be the same :( It breaks my heart! She can't sleep well, wimpers all night long because she can't get comfortable...it's not fair that this happened. Our kids are stressed, we are stressed and of course our poor dog is stressed...all because of carelessness!

A cut tendon? If this is true, thats pretty insane.

I'm a groomer, and in my early time i'll admit i nicked a dogs ear once, and i knew i had done it imediately even though it didnt start bleeding untill i cleaned it afterwards (then it bleed alot, that was terrible) because you feel the difference between skin and hair. AND i'm sure theres a HUGE difference between mussel and hair?

Though mats can feel pretty *** thick, IF THIS IS TRUE, the groomer was deffinately not being safe. As a groomer you have to anticipate a dog freaking out and moving suddenly cause it happens everyday, but cutting a dog that severly doesnt make any sense.

Petco butchered my poodle
I took my puppy in to be groomed at PetCo thinking that because of the high cost I would have no problems and that my poodle would be properly done. They butchered him, they cut him in 4 places on his stomach, told me he was severly matted (he was groomed at PetsMart...

Yes I agree. ...

the larger companies don't seem to care how their grooming depts., operate!

They give a lot of Hype about their so called love of animals but my experience with Petco has left me livid with the way both the grooming dept., operates & store mgt. through customer care could care less!

Negligence.Grooming at Petco

Hello around the holiday's your so busy with the hustle and the bustle of the festivities.I wanted to treat my 3 year old shih tzu brindle Beanie bearz for a spa date at petco.I dropped her off a little early she was fine, when i picked her up 4 hours later she couldn't open her eyes .They told me she had a reaction to the chemicals and put drops in her eyes when i got her home all she did was whine and she could barley open her eyes.I called the store immediately told them what was going on.They said the store was closing call tomorrow if shes not better.I called the next day the store manager acted like this was no big deal and i demanded something be done so they gave me number of a vet they use they got beanie bearz in emergency turned out she had coronary ulcers in both eyes this happened Thanksgiving weekend still fighting with them.

Actually, we are required to wash a dogs face with a tearless shampoo as well. We use eye wash before and following the bath too.

I can only speak for myself, as a groomer, that I care for every pet that comes in as I would for my own pets. Many of my coworkers are the same. I have met many careless groomers in the past but they are long gone from our petco salon now. I have to say, it may have been someone's small mistake that had caused such a issue.

Whether it be the groomer who forgot a single step in the process, or maybe the customer was unaware of any allergies her pet may have had OR failed to mantion to the groomer any allergies. I know we as petco employees are a team and are looked upon as a corporation, but it really comes down to each and every one of us individually. I understand the horrible situation you have endured and I feel terrible that your baby is in pain. Though, you are angry with one employee, I hope you understand not all of us are the same person.

:)

I hope Beanie Bearz recovers soon and I am deeply sorry for such a bad experience. I assure you, we love all pets and are happy to serve you and your baby as best we can.

That can happen when the shampoo gets in the eyes. We always use a tearless shampoo on the face but even tearless shampoos can cause ulcers.

Eye drops are recommended before and after the bath. I don't think tearless shampoo and eyedrops are a policy at PetCo.

It is a strictly enforced policy at PetSmart.

Hope your baby gets better soon!

You know that groomers don't groom dogs straight through right? There's a period of time where dogs have to dry before you do anything. Sorry you think people aren't allowed to take breaks.

Petco in Minneapolis, Minnesota - Customer respect

There is a price difference from retail store and online of over $25. Petco is finding new ways of loosing your trust and of ripping people off!!! Also found that items priced on the shelf are not the same as what you get charged at the register. Higher charge of course! When I brought this to their attention they tried to pass it off as a convenience charge. The fact that I happen to be near a petco store while I was visiting friends I had to pay extra for the item. A price of a product should be the price of the product. especially within the same company. a few dollars difference I may understand but over $25. absurd!!!!

Like with all other major retailers, the difference in online price and in-store price is normal. There is a huge difference in the overhead for products bought online and those bought in-store.

Distribution is completely different when you do it through the website. Check the websites of any big box store that has distribution through their website (Walmart, Target, etc) and you will see their policy is the exact same as Petco.

You probably didn't notice that there is normally a cheaper price, which is the PALS price, and then the normal price, for people without PALS. I have people like you at the register all the time.
